“I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back." – Maya Angelou
RPS was founded as the need grew for new market entrants into the woman-owned power marketing space, starting in 2011 with the GO 156 legislation expansion in California. This was the catalyst that launched RPS as a Diverse Business Supplier (DBE) certifed power marketer. But, it is the history of RPS involvement, over a period of two decades, that really provides the backdrop of experience for serving the WECC and now ERCOT markets. RPS prides itself on its relationships with multiple counterparties including marketers, utilities, municipalities, industrial customers and merchant developers that provide access to liquidity, knowledge, markets, buyers and sellers for RPS and our clients. Knowing our markets over the last twenty years, gives RPS a unique advantage as we have seen markets go through various cycles and can provide insight and solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
RPS has always believed that energy drives the future of nearly every industry in the world. The United States energy markets are continually going through change whether its incorporating more renewables, increasing the supply of natural gas from fracking, developing greater environmental controls, or expanding competition. All of these changes require a focus on a balanced approach for incorporating their inherent benefits and accounting for their difficulties.
RPS understands that there is no one solution and enjoys finding opportunities in diverse generation sources and complex loads in order to find a home for every prospective structure. Just as there are opportunities in these diverse energy markets, there are opportunities with RPS and its women-owned approach for seeking solutions together with our clients.
RPS will give 5%, at a minimum, of its net profits to those charitable organizations that support women, industry and related causes.
